Learn from Mistakes!

 Some time ago, I was discussing with a senior colleague, who was preparing for a final examination to get a certificate forr a professional course.


He talked about some mistakes he made while he was in 200 level. He refered to those mistakes as a way to correct himself towards his preparation for the examination.


He said, "Avoiding mistakes has never been my lifestyle. Mistakes are inevitable in life. They can happen in our personal or professional lives, but regardless of where they occur, mistakes can be valuable learning opportunities".


Here's what I want you to know;


From childhood, we were taught that making mistakes is bad. We were scolded for getting wrong answers, punished for making mistakes, and ridiculed for things we do not know.


As a result of this, we grew up fearing mistakes and made it a goal to avoid them at all costs.


As much as you hate making mistakes, it is vital to realize that they are not the end of the world. In fact, they are stepping stones towards improvement.


Mistakes can be challenging and frustrating, but they are an inevitable part of life. It is essential to embrace them and learn from them because every mistake is an opportunity for growth.



The key is to;


— Accept responsibility

— Evaluate it

— Learn from it

— Seek feedback and advice from others.


Remember, learning from mistakes is crucial to personal growth, and it is an ongoing process that will lead to a more fulfilling life.
